Walt Disney World 2024 Since its grand opening in 1971, Walt Disney World Resort has remained an unparalleled symbol of enchantment and imagination, captivating the hearts of millions of visitors each year. The year of 2024 will be no different. Here are five new things coming to Walt Disney World Parks in 2024. Park Reservations Lifted After re-opening from the pandemic, Disney introduced the park reservation system. In addition to buying tickets, guests would book a reservation for the park they wanted to visit and which day. This was an excellent way to keep track of capacity. This system meant that guests knew in advanced which park they would be able to get into which day. However, there were some downsides. Some guests hate having to plan out every single minute of their vacation. Some like to wake up in the morning and decide which park they want to go to based on their current vibes. Now, they have to make that decision months in advance. Fortunately, Walt Disney World is lif

Your Guide To Meeting The Characters at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Getting a picture with your favorite character is just one of the many things you can do at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Here is some information on the characters at the Magic Kingdom and where you can find them.

Mickey and Friends

Mickey and his pals are iconic Disney characters, so of course you'll want a pic with them. They can be found in all the Walt Disney World parks. At Magic Kingdom, the majority of them are at the Storybook Circus area and wearing circus costumes.

Mickey Mouse

The mouse man himself is one of the first character meet and greets you'll pass by at Magic Kingdom. He is at the Town Square theater, which is just to your right as you step out onto Main Street. He is a very popular character and meets guests almost all day long.

Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse is on the other end of the park, at Pete's Silly Sideshow in the Storybook Circus area. Minnie meets next to Daisy Duck, so you will be able to get a picture with each. Since this meet and greet is located in Storybooks Circus, it is circus themes. Minnie is a poodle trainer and wears a cute pink outfit. She usually meets guests about an hour after park open to a couple of hours before park close.

Daisy Duck

Daisy meets alongside Minnie at Pete's Silly Sideshow in the Storybook Circus area. Here, Daisy is a fortune teller with a crystal ball. You'll have plenty of time to meet Daisy because she meets from about an hour after Magic Kingdom opens  for the day until a couple of hours before park close.

Donald Duck

On the other side of Pete's Silly Sideshow is Donald and Goofy. For the circus,  Donald is Donaldo, the snake trainer. He meets guests about an hour after park open to a couple of hours before park close.

Goofy

You can find Goofy with Donald at Pete's Silly Sideshow. For the circus, Goofy has dressed up as the great Goofini, a stuntman. He meets guests from an hour after park open to a couple of hours before close.

Princesses

What would the most magical place on earth be if there were no princesses? Magic Kingdom is a great place to meet many Disney Princesses. They are usually found in Fantasyland. For more information on where to meet the Princesses at Disney World, check out this post.

Cinderella

Cinderella can be found at Princess Fairytale Hall. This is located in Fantasyland, right behind her castle. Princess Fairytale Hall hosts four different rotating Princesses. You can meet two at a time. Princess Fairytale Hall can sometimes draw a crowd, but you do not need to worry. Cinderella meets guests almost all day long.

Ariel

Ariel has her own meet and greet location at Magic Kingdom. You'll find The Little Mermaid themed area in the back of Fantasyland. Go under the sea to find mermaid Ariel in her grotto. Ariel's Grotto is located right next to her ride.  Ariel meets guests from about an hour after park open and swims away a couple of hours before park close.

Belle

Belle does not have a traditional meet and greet in the Magic Kingdom. However, you can still have an experience with her at Enchanted Tales With Belle. This is located in the Beauty and the Beast section of Fantasyland. Step inside Belle's cottage and relive the story of Beauty and the Beast. Belle herself will make a special appearance. Enchanted Tales with Belle usually opens at approximately 10:00am but closes a few hours before the rest of Magic Kingdom.

Aladdin & Jasmine

Princess Jasmine meets with Prince Aladdin in Adventureland. The duo can be found right next to the Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride. They meet periodically from about 10:00am-2:00pm.

Tiana

Princess Tiana is a part of the Princess Fairytale Hall line up. She meets alongside Rapunzel, so you can get a picture with each Princess. Princess Fairytale Hall opens with the park and closes a few hours before the park.

Rapunzel

Raps is located in Princess Fairytale Hall with Tiana. You can find her meet and greet location in Fantasyland next to the carrousel and castle. She is able to meet guests from park open and will stay until a couple of hours before park close.

Miscellaneous

Of course, there are many other Disney characters to meet at the Magic Kingdom. Here are some that are currently meeting guests.

Winnie the Pooh & Tigger

Right next to the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride is the Thotful Spot. This is where you can see Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger too! They meet periodically throughout the day.

Mirabel

Since Mirabel is a popular character from one of Disney's newest movies, she can draw quite a big line. She meets guests longer than some other characters, from park open to about 4:00pm. You can find her at the Fairytale Garden located between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, near the Mad Tea Party ride.

Peter Pan

Peter Pan meets guests right next to his ride in Fantasyland, from about 11:30am to 4:30pm. Peter Pan is a very popular character to meet, so lines can get long. It is recommended to line up early to catch him before he flys away back to Neverland.

Character Dining

Another fun way to see your favorite Disney stars is at a character dining experience. A few restaurants in Magic Kingdom offer character dining. This is a meal where characters may walk around to each table to say hello. Many guests prefer this way to see characters because you do not have to wait in a line. Instead, you can sit down and eat some devious food while you wait for the characters to come up to you. These restaurants are highly sought after, so you will need to make a reservation in advanced.

Cinderella's Royal Table

Cinderella's Royal Table is a top restaurant at Magic Kingdom. This resturant is actually located inside of Cinderella's castle and is a bit fancier than other park eateries. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At each meal, several Princesses will circle around the tables. You can expect to see Cinderella. You may also see Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, or Jasmine.

Crystal Palace

The Crystal Palace is a buffet restaurant themed after Victorian greenhouses. Along with your breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you'll see Winnie the Pooh characters. While Pooh and Tigger also meet elsewhere in the park, this dining experience a good way to see some rarer characters such as Eeyore and Piglet. Every so often, the characters will do a little parade around the restaurant, which is adorable.

Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest is another great choice for a meal. It is located inside of the Beast's castle, and this is the only place where you can meet the Beast himself! Unlike the previous two places, characters will not come up to your table. Rather, there is a separate area in the restaurant with the Beast. You can go up to the Beast at any point during your meal.

Some Additional Tips

For the majority of these character experiences, you will have to wait to a line. The length of this line depends on the popularity of the character and the time of day. Disney places their characters in one particular spot, and the line forms next to it. Times and locations are posted on Disney maps, and the My Disney Experience app. Usually, there is a sign just outside the line that has the times posted. Characters often take breaks, but do not worry - they will be coming back soon. You can hug and talk to these characters, but please be respectful. Many people like to collect character signatures in an autograph book. A Disney Photopass photographer will take your picture with the character. If you would like to have a picture taken on your own camera or cell, you can ask the photographer. You can also ask the people standing in line next to you if. they might take your picture on your device. Be sure to say "thank you" to the cast members and character. Then, you'll be on your way to your next adventure.

Disney Darling Blog has a comprehensive list of Disney movies, broken. down by the studio from which the films were produced.   Disney Animation Studios When most people think of "Disney movies", they are probably referring to Disney Animation Studios films. These movies were made from Disney's official animation studio and theatrically released.  At the time of writing, Disney Animation Studios (DAS) has released 61 movies. In this list, these movies are broken down by era. The Golden Era starts off with the massively successful Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The movies in this era were critically acclaimed and helped establish Walt Disney as a serious filmmaker.  During WWII, the Disney movie studio struggled. To save money, many films were made up of a compilation of cartoon shorts. This era is referred to the Package Era, or sometimes the Wartime Era.  With the war over, Disney could finally return to

Walt Disney World Parks: The Basics

Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Or just want to learn more about the parks and don't know where to start? Disney Darling breaks down the basics for you! Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World Disneyland and Disney World are two different parks, located on opposite sides of the country. As mentioned in this post , it is a common misconception that Disneyland and Disney World are the same thing.  Disneyland is the first Disney theme park ever, opening in 1955. It is located in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles.  Disneyland has two different parks: Disneyland Park (with the castle), and Disney's California Adventure (or DCA). Disneyland also has three hotels and the Downtown Disney shopping district.  Walt Disney World is located in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. It opened in 1971, after Walt's passing. Walt Disney World Without Genie+

Last year, Disney introduced its new Genie+ system. Basically, Genie+ is the replacement for FastPass, except you have to pay to use it now. The FastPass system has been a staple in many Disney trips for 20 years. I myself was a huge advocate. But doing Disney without Genie+ or Lighting Lane is totally possible. Many people have reported on forums that Genie+ is definitely a bonus and not at all a requirement. Here are some tips for a Walt Disney World vacation WITHOUT Genie+: Check Wait Times Walt Disney World's app is a must for every trip. On the app, you can check wait times for every attraction across the resort. You many want to download the app a few weeks before your trip and take note of the wait times throughout the days leading up to your visit to get an idea of when the parks are the most crowded.  Some rides like The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will have a permanent hour-long wait no matter what.  Some rides like Splash Mountain (Tiana's Version) hit their peak during
