Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Or just want to learn more about the parks and don't know where to start? Disney Darling breaks down the basics for you! Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World Disneyland and Disney World are two different parks, located on opposite sides of the country. As mentioned in this post , it is a common misconception that Disneyland and Disney World are the same thing.  Disneyland is the first Disney theme park ever, opening in 1955. It opened in 1971, after Walt's passing. Walt Disney World has 4 different theme parks, 2 water parks, 28 hotels, and the Disney Springs shopping district.  There are quite a few more differences, but lo

Magic Kingdom 2017

Hi, there! You may want to check out What's New at Magic Kingdom in 2023 ! The biggest change to come to Magic Kingdom in 2017 is the morning rope drop. In the past, guests would crowd around the front of the Main Street Train Station to watch the Welcome Show. Once the Welcome Show was over, the crowd would bottle-neck at the entrance and run over each other to either Mine Train or Peter Pan. This was bad for two main reasons. First, it could be a safety hazard. Second, people did not take time to appreciate the park during their stampede to be the first in line, which is the opposite of what Walt and imagineers wanted.  Now, there will be no more waiting just outside of the park. Guests will be welcomed into the park an hour before it officially opens and will be allowed to wander down Main Street. The Welcome Show will no longer be in front of the train Station. Instead, there will be a new show called Let the Magic Begin on the castle stage. The rest of the areas will be ro
