Walt Disney World Parks: The Basics

Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Or just want to learn more about the parks and don't know where to start? Disney Darling breaks down the basics for you! Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World Disneyland and Disney World are two different parks, located on opposite sides of the country. As mentioned in this post , it is a common misconception that Disneyland and Disney World are the same thing.  Disneyland is the first Disney theme park ever, opening in 1955. It is located in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles.  Disneyland has two different parks: Disneyland Park (with the castle), and Disney's California Adventure (or DCA). Disneyland also has three hotels and the Downtown Disney shopping district.  Walt Disney World is located in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. It opened in 1971, after Walt's passing. Walt Disney World has 4 different theme parks, 2 water parks, 28 hotels, and the Disney Springs shopping district.  There are quite a few more differences, but lo

Walt Disney World 2024: 5 New Things At Walt Disney World In 2024!

Walt Disney World 2024 Since its grand opening in 1971, Walt Disney World Resort has remained an unparalleled symbol of enchantment and imagination, captivating the hearts of millions of visitors each year. The year of 2024 will be no different. Here are five new things coming to Walt Disney World Parks in 2024. Park Reservations Lifted After re-opening from the pandemic, Disney introduced the park reservation system. In addition to buying tickets, guests would book a reservation for the park they wanted to visit and which day. This was an excellent way to keep track of capacity. This system meant that guests knew in advanced which park they would be able to get into which day. However, there were some downsides. Some guests hate having to plan out every single minute of their vacation. Some like to wake up in the morning and decide which park they want to go to based on their current vibes. Now, they have to make that decision months in advance. Fortunately, Walt Disney World is lif

Since its grand opening in 1998, this one-of-a-kind theme park has transported visitors to some of Earth's most captivating ecosystems and allowed them to encounter a vast array of incredible animal species. As we enter 2024, Disney's Animal Kingdom continues to mesmerize guests with its commitment to conservation, education, and imagination.  Earth Day Celebration Last year, DAK celebrated its 25th anniversary with week-long special offerings. The park actually opened on Earth Day 1998.  Even though last year was a milestone and this year is not, I still anticipate a celebration. The Walt Disney World website currently has a page that says “Join us as we celebrate Earth Day and honor the magic of nature through family-friendly experiences and specialty offerings. Walt Disney World 2024: Disney's' Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios, one of the four major theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, has been an iconic destination for entertainment enthusiasts since its opening in 1989. As we look ahead to 2024, the park continues to evolve and captivate visitors with its unique blend of movie magic, immersive experiences, and beloved characters. 2024 will see some updated attractions and special event dates at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  New Little Mermaid Show The Voyage of The Little Mermaid is one of Hollywood Studio’s longest running stage shows. Like the rest of the parks, it closed in 2020. However, guests noticed its absence once everything else opened. With the show being closed for so long, rumors started to spread. Last year, Disney Darling even predicted an overhaul of Animation Courtyard. It seems that won’t be happening for a few more years (if ever).  Recently, Disney announced the return of a Little Mermaid show. This one will be called Th

Walt Disney World 2024: Magic Kingdom

Are you ready to be blown away by the exciting new additions coming to the happiest place on earth in 2024? Get your Mickey ears on because Walt Disney World is about to take enchantment to a whole new level. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure It is rumored that this attraction will be splashing down late 2024, possibly in time for the holiday season. Ideally, the attraction would open in the summer to accommodate for the heat and the crowds. Splash Mountain first opened at Magic Kingdom on October 2nd, just one day shy of the park’s 21st anniversary. Perhaps Splash Mountain (Tiana's Version) will open in time for the 53rd anniversary? October is still very warm in Florida, so this date may work well. Either way, everybody is excited for this exciting attraction to open.  Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a re-vamp of the iconic Splash Mountain. This time, the story will be told with characters from Princess and the  Frog. The ride layout will essentially be the same, but there will be updated an
