Disney's Hollywood Studios, one of the four major theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, has been an iconic destination for entertainment enthusiasts since its opening in 1989. As we look ahead to 2025, the park continues to evolve and captivate visitors with its unique blend of movie magic, immersive experiences, and beloved characters. 2025 will see some new shows and possibly some new characters.
I’ve got to be honest - I am not excited about the new changes to Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. The choices just do not make sense to me. Nevertheless, I will still be reporting on those changes, just with a heavy dose of my own biases.
Disney Villians: Unfairly Ever After
Live show featuring your favorite villains like Cruella Devil, Captain, Hook, and Maleficent (no word on if Mal and Evie will join yet). You will be able to find this show at the dead end of Sunset Boulevard, next to Rock’n’Rollercoaster. Why Disney isn’t saving this show for the Villains Land at the Magic Kingdom, I’ll never know - especially when you can see the villains in another show just on the other side of the street.
The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show has been revamped. I’ve got to keep it 100: this choice feels like a wasted opportunity to me. The Animation Courtyard is the area where Imagineers should have put their focus on as it is easily the weakest part of the park. This is where I believe a new expansion could have occurred. The choice to keep outdated show buildings is baffling to me. Although I do think the show fits into the theme of old school Hollywood Studios, so I guess I can’t be that mad. The show is reported to open summer 2025. Will you see it?
Rumored: Bluey Meet and Greet
It was announced in December that Bluey “experiences” would be added to the Disney Parks in 2025. Most fans are taking this wording to mean a meet and greet. And the most fitting place for Bluey would be in the Disney Jr section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Although, it is likely he makes an appearance at Magic Kingdom instead. What do you think?
Jollywood Nights
After the success of last year, it seems as if Jollywood Nights will become a yearly tradition. Jollywood Nights is Hollywood Studio’s special-ticketed Christmas party. There are special shows, snacks, and characters during the event. No official dates have been announced yet, but last year the party started in early November and lasted through late December.
