Walt Disney World Parks: The Basics

Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Or just want to learn more about the parks and don't know where to start? Disney Darling breaks down the basics for you! Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World Disneyland and Disney World are two different parks, located on opposite sides of the country. As mentioned in this post , it is a common misconception that Disneyland and Disney World are the same thing.  Disneyland is the first Disney theme park ever, opening in 1955. It is located in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles.  Disneyland has two different parks: Disneyland Park (with the castle), and Disney's California Adventure (or DCA). Disneyland also has three hotels and the Downtown Disney shopping district.  Walt Disney World is located in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. It opened in 1971, after Walt's passing. Walt Disney World has 4 different theme parks, 2 water parks, 28 hotels, and the Disney Springs shopping district.  There are quite a few more differences, but lo

Starbucks At Walt Disney World: Locations, Hours, Tips, and More!

Starbucks is the most recognizable coffee chain in the world. Some people have a Starbucks every day, so why should vacation be any different? Luckily for the caffeine-cravers, there are Starbucks at Walt Disney World.

Where is Starbucks located at Walt Disney World?
If you're looking for a caffeine fix, you won’t have to look far. There are 6 Starbucks locations in Walt Disney World. There is one in each of the four theme parks, and two in Disney Springs. The Starbucks in the four theme parks may be tricky to locate as they go by a different name in each park to fit the theming.

Magic Kingdom Starbucks
The Starbucks at Magic Kingdom is named Main Street Bakery. It is located on Main Street, USA. When you first enter the park, stay to the right. The Main Street Bakery will be next to the Crystal Arts shop.

Just like the rest of Main Street, this Starbucks is themed after a turn-of-the-century bakery. There is no seating in this Starbucks, so you’ll get your order to go. But that just means you can take an iconic photo of your Starbucks in front of Cinderella’s castle.

Epcot Starbucks
If you have not been to Epcot in the past year, you may be surprised to find that Epcot’s Starbucks has changed. Gone is the former Fountain View. The Starbucks at Epcot is now called the Connections Cafe. It is located in the World Celebration area, between Spaceship Earth and Mission: Space. It is in the building that formerly belonged to Innoventions.

The new Connections Cafe is contemporary in design, featuring open spaces and neutral tones. If you need a place to charge your phone in some air conditioning, this is the place. Some of the seating has attached outlets.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Starbucks
The Starbucks at Hollywood Studios goes by the name Trolley Car Cafe. It is located at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. You can easily find this building by looking for the red awning.

The theming of the Trolley Car Cafe is top-notch. It is themed like one of the vintage trolley cars that used to run up and down California city streets. Take a look around and you’ll find packages and vintage machinery. The cast members wear 1930s-style outfits.

There is no seating inside this Starbucks, so you will have to take your drink to go. However, there is plenty of seating options just outside. There are benches on Sunset Boulevard nearby. Right next to the exit of the Trolley Car is a fountain and some planters that double as benches. You can sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Starbucks
The Starbucks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom goes by Creature Comforts, which is a fitting name for any caffeine-craver. To find this Starbucks, you’ll have to venture into the park. You’ll go to Discovery Island and turn left at the Tree of Life. Creature Comforts is located just before Africa.

Creature Comforts looks unlike any other Starbucks. Its theming fits right in with Animal Kingdom. And like the park, this coffee shop does its part to protect the planet. If you order a Flat White in any size, a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Disney Conservation Fund’s efforts to protect Cotton Top Tamarins.

In fact, you can take your Flat White across the path from Creature Comforts to see the Cotton Top Tamarins! These little fuzz balls are so cute. You’ll love watching them while you sip your drink before heading to your next adventure.

Disney Springs Starbucks
Disney Springs actually has two different Starbucks locations. Unlike the ones in the parks, these Starbucks do not go by a different name. They are simply called “Starbucks”, and you will easily recognize them from their green signs. One is located on the West Side, near the blue hot air balloon.

In addition to coffee, this Starbucks location also sells beer and wine. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors is an interactive live feed of the Starbucks in Disneyland, on the other side of the country. Don’t forget to smile and wave!

The second location is in the Marketplace, across from the Lego sea serpent. This location is a grab-and-go kiosk. You’ll order at the window, and wait for your order. Then, you can take your drink with you as you go shopping.

When Is Walt Disney World’s Starbucks Open?
The following times are when Starbucks at Walt Disney World is open:

Magic Kingdom (Main Street Bakery): half an hour before park open - half an hour after park close.
Those who arrive early to Magic Kingdom are typically allowed to wander down Main Street before the rest of the park opens up. Main Street is also open later than the rest of the park. So, you can do some last minute Disney Starbucks collector’s cups shopping before leaving.

Epcot (Connections Cafe): Park open - park close

Hollywood Studios (Trolley Car Cafe): park open - park close

Animal Kingdom (Creature Comforts): half an hour before park open - park close

Creature Comforts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom opens for Early Entry.

Starbucks at Disney Springs West Side: 9am - 11pm

Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace: 9am-11pm

For more specific times, check out the Disney World app or website.

When to go to Starbucks at Walt Disney World
Starbucks is often busy, but especially in the first hour of the park opening. Some people will make Starbucks their first stop. This is not recommended for those that prioritize attractions. Instead, pick a popular ride that usually has a long wait time and do that first. Wait times are shortest at park opening, so you may want to strategically take advantage of arriving early. After you knock out a ride or two, then you may want to grab your coffee. The Starbucks within the Walt Disney World parks are usually the least crowded later in the day. If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, then Starbucks is the place to go.

Beware of the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom. This parade happens daily at noon and 3pm. It goes right down Main Street, so people crowd the sidewalks for a good viewing spot. This means you may have a difficult time navigating through the crowd to enter and exit the Main Street Bakery.

Does the Starbcucks Rewards Program Count At Walt Disney World?
You can use your Starbucks app to earn stars at any of the Walt Disney World locations. However, you cannot redeem your stars within the four theme parks. The Starbucks rewards program is completely valid at the two Disney Springs locations.

Why Go To Starbucks At Walt Disney World?
Specialty Treats
Each of the Starbucks in the Walt Disney World parks offer exclusive treats you can’t find anywhere else. For example, you can find a Minnie-shaped cinnamon roll at Main Street Bakery. Creature Comforts offers cupcakes themed after different animals. The Trolley Cart Cafe sells Mickey shaped chocolate chip cookies. These speciality treats may be switched out seasonally, so it doesn’t hurt to pop in and see what is being offered during your visit.

Disney Starbucks Merchandise
If you need another excuse to spend money at Disney, the Starbucks at Walt Disney World sell exclusive merchandise. During Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021, Starbucks sold 50th anniversary cups. Each Walt Disney World park also had its own mug for the Starbucks You Are Here and Been There collections. Some years a Disney Starbucks Christmas cup is offered. The shelves are constantly being stocked with new selections.

Is there anywhere else to get coffee at Walt Disney World?
Not a Starbucks stan? Don’t worry. Disney offers an alternative choice to get your caffeine fix. Joffrey’s Coffee is local to Florida and found throughout Walt Disney World. Joffrey’s is served in several restaurants at he parks and the resort hotels. You can find Joffrey’s Coffee carts in Hollywood Studios, Epcot, DAK, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Springs, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and the Ticket and Transportation Center.

Your Guide To The Attractions at Walt Disney World's EPCOT

Often described as “science fair meets world's fair” EPCOT is definitely a park that helps set Walt DIsney World apart from the rest of the DIsney parks around the world.  EPCOT is often branded as the park for adults, as drinking is a popular activity here. However, there are plenty of things for kids of all ages to do.  Thrill Rides The thrill rides at EPCOT are roller coasters or flight simulators with intensity. I've compiled a list of 6 ways to ruin your Walt Disney World experience: Don’t plan anything at all I used to work at the front entrance of Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the amount of times a whole family would saunter off the bus and ask a coworker or I “So…what’s there to do here?” was astronomical.  There are A LOT of things to do at Walt Disney World.
